GO SEE HOZIER
I have thoroughly enjoyed Rufus Du Sol's music up to this point. His vocals are even stronger in person than on the recordings. The acoustics were fantastic at the Grand Ole Opry, and the venue really fit the show. Rufus Du Sol is my current favorite artist. He covers a wide range of his songs, not just the radio hits. His connection to his band seems really genuine and based on mutual respect for music. His accent is also stronger in person, for those who appreciate accents. I had never been to the Grand Ole Opry before, and I loved the show. Rufus Du Sol makes performing and singing look effortless. He adlibs some of the songs, making them so much better than the first time you heard them. He's very talented, as are his team and bandmates. I would love to see him again!
FIX YOUR SOUND, and seriously overpriced beers/drinks/water
I'll never attend another concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre. I attended two this week: Black Keys and Rufus du Sol. The bands were awesome, but this venue really needs some quality audio engineering. The sound was awful, and it's not due to the shape of the lawn or echo alone. Even my friends with less sensitive ears thought the sound was bad. Very unbalanced, annoying, and speakers sounded like they were going to blow at times. Ear plugs didn't help. Nice staff, but overall horrible venue.
And what's up with the ridiculous cost of any drink? You're not a top venue, you should not be charging so much. Also $55 parking. Never again.
